YSRCP MLAs Nani, Chevireddy Accuse TDP Govt of Vendetta
Two YSRCP MLAs attended the hearing of the privileges committee of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly on Thursday. They were asked to appear before the committee in connection with the protests in the Assembly well over the issue of Special Category Status to the state.
Gudivada MLA Kodali Sri Venkateswara Rao (Nani) and Chandragiri MLA Chevireddy Bhaskara Reddy presented themselves before the committee. Nani argued that the issuance of notices was politically motivated. He said he had never demeaned the Speaker's position and did not use abusive language. He maintained that the Government was resorting to vendetta as he had raised the issue of special category status.
Referring to the reports of his party MLAs crossing over, he said it would not be a loss for the party.
