YSRCP for local body polls on party symbols

YSR Congress Party has favoured the verdict of Supreme Court on local body elections in the State and demanded that the elections should be organised on party symbols.

Gattu Ramachandra Rao, YSRCP official spokesperson demanded that the government should organise elections immediately as per the SC directives.

Recalling that YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had written a letter on June, 2011 for early local body elections, Ramachandra Rao said the people would have benefited to the tune of Rs 4,000 crore if the election was held then.  The governemnt should clarify why the election for local bodies was delayed. It was against the wishes of Rajiv Gandhi and also the Indian Constitution, he said, adding that the delay in the election was a conspiracy of Congress party as the YSRCP would win all the seats if the election were held.
