YSR Congress Party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's sister Sharmila on Monday completed 1000 km marathon walk as part of her 'Maro Praja Prastanam' Padayatra.

Sharmila, who embarked on the padayatra to give solace to the people, who were facing hardships, crossed 1000 kms on the 70th day when she reached Kondrapolu in Nalgonda District.

She garlanded the statue of her father YS Rajasekhara Reddy to mark the occasion.

Addressing a public meeting, Sharmila said that her padayatra was not for records or celebrations and it was to understand the people's problems.

Sharmila maintained that she had visited hundreds of villages but everywhere she was moved by the tears of people and their untold miseries.

Shramila started her padayatra  at Idupulapaya in YSR Kadapa district on  October 18. She toured six districts - YSR, Anantapur, Kurnool, Mahbubnagar, Rangareddy and Nalgonda.

Apart from meeting the people in distress at  Rachabanda programmes, she addressed the public meetings.

Sharmila sustained a knee injury, when she slipped at BN Nagar in Ranga Reddy district. She underwent a surgery and despite all odds she resumed the yatra to fulfill his brother's YS Jagan's promise to the people.
