YSRCP demands Naidu’s apology for irresponsible allegations
The YSRCP has demanded an unconditional apology from TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu for his wild allegations and irresponsible statement that the opinion poll survey conducted by a reputed media house was a sponsored show.
“It is disgraceful on the part of Chandrababu Naidu to comment that our Party has sponsored or offered money for the survey which has given a thumping 21 of the 42 Parliament seats in the State to us. It is unbecoming on the part of a person who hhas served the state for nine years as chief minister and is heading a party with a standing of three decades, to make such baseless allegations and irresponsible comments,” party senior leaders Konatala Ramakrishna and DA Somayajulu told reporters here on Wednesday.
The TDP which could not win a single by-election since 2009 needs to introspect on the reasons for its decline, they said. Instead, the TDP has been hurling baseless allegations that the YSRCP had sponsored an opinion poll which was carried out nation-wide to gauge the mood of the people, should there be an election, they said.
“Chandrababu Naidu has got his facts wrong and went on to say that the survey was conducted only in four states. It is an opinion poll being carried out on a national scale and results of 4 states were released up until now. The media house will sum up the findings of all the States at a later date”, they added.
“His allegations and charges are baseless and filled with factual errors. He should tender an apology for his remarks that the opinion polls were sponsored,” they said.
“As the TDP base is fast eroding, Chandrababu Naidu has been leveling false charges. He had earlier alleged that YSRCP had offered money to Gudivada MLA Kodali Nani, when he met our Party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy”, they said.
On the August 31 State bandh, they pointed out that though the left parties had approached the YSRCP to postpone it, no decision had been taken, as yet. “However, we would like to express our solidarity with all parties protesting against the State Government’s apathy in dealing with the power crisis”, they said.
