YSRCP demands debate on law and order in AP
YSRCP MLAs on Tuesday demanded a debate on the law and order situation in the state of Andhra Pradesh.
“We gave a notice under 344 on Monday for a debate on law and order situation in the state. The debate is needed as the law and order situation has deteriorated considerably in the state,” said YSRCP MLAs.
Rejecting the demand for the debate, Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao told the members that Chief Minsiter N.Chandrababu Naidu would make a statement on the issue and the debate could be postponed to Wednesday.
At this juncture, YSRCP members moved to the podium and raised the slogans ‘We want justice’. The party wanted a discussion on the spate of killings of YSRCP activists in the state ever since the TDP government took reins of power.
While the YSRCP members were demanding a debate on the same, the TDP members too raised the counter-slogans.
YSRCP MLAs alleged that the state government was considering the issue of law and order as an unimportant one. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu too looked quite nonchalant as the demand for a debate raged on.
As the YSRCP members continue demanding for debate, the speaker adjourned the house for 15 minutes.
