Arogyasri to be renamed as NTR Arogyasri

Andhra Pradesh Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas on Tuesday said that the Rajiv Arogyasri would be rechristened as NTR Arogysari.

Speaking in assembly on Tuesday, he said that they are adding about 100 more diseases to the list of diseases that would be covered under Arogyasri. “There is no plan to hike the user charges in the government hospitals in the state. We are introducing bio-metric and tracking systems in the government hospitals,” said the minister.

Speaking in the second day f the assembly session,Leader of the Opposition Y.S.Jagan Mohan Reddy said, “The government hospitals were benefited by the Arogyasri scheme that was introduced by former chief minister Dr.Y.S.Rajasekhar Reddy. The government must remember this. About 65 % of the funds used to come to hospitals under the schemes. Only 35 % funds will go to the doctors. With the scheme, even the poor people got the corporate treatment.”
