YSRCP begins pro-farmer battle
* Farmers left in the lurch by TDP
Starting from Thursday, it would be Narakasura Vadha - slaying of demon Narakasura - across Andhra Pradesh.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, whose flip-flops on crop loan waiver, have left countelss farmers in the lurch, would be burnt in effigy in every village of the state for three days.
To fight for the farmers: YSRCP supremo YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said his party would stand by the farmers and fight against Chandrababu naidu's betrayal. He called upon all political parties, including the BJP, to join the struggle.
Taking the TDP to task for reneging on its election-eve promise of waiving crop loans and Dwacra loans, he said Babu was dishing out a lie a day to dupe the farmers and Dwacra women.
Double Game: "The 187th SLBC meeting chaired by Chandrababu Naidu himself has agreed that the total crop loans amount to Rs 86700 crores, Dwcra loans to Rs 14000 crores and total loan amount to Rs 1.01 lakh crores.
Why is Chandrababu trying to scale down the total loan amount to Rs 37000 crore? Why are Kotaiah Committee report is at variance with SLBC? It is clear that Chandrababu is making Kotaiah Committee to further his agenda," said Jagan.
"Why should'nt a 420 case be booked against Chandrababu? In fact an '840 case' should be booked against Chandrababu," he quipped.
Displaying the news paper clippings and media clippings, including TDP's election ads, Jagan said that the same TDP was now asking the farmers to pay the outstanding loan to avail loans again.
"There's no clarity over when and how the loans would be waived off," Jagan said and pointed out that due to the false promises of Chandrababu Naidu, the farmers would not get crop insurance due to non-payment of loans.
"They have to pay an additional Rs 14000 crore towards interest of 12 per cent. The government should foot the bill as it has asked the farmers not to pay the loans," he said.
He also ridiculed Chandrababu's claims that he would auction unfelled red sanders trees and unmined sand to suport crop loan waiver saying that this was not possible to implement and was contrary to the rules of law.
Slams pro-Babu media: Jagan came down heavily against a section of media which was acting in cahoots with the ruling dispensation and was trying to defend Chandrababu. He asked the media to keep politics aside and speak out for the farmers and the people.
