YS Jagan meets President, blames Babu for TDP atrocities

A YSR Congress Party delegation and party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy met President Pranab Mukherjee on Thursday at Rashtrapati Bhawan, and explained him the atrocities by the ruling TDP during the elections of municipal chairpersons, mayors, MPP and Zilla Parishad chiefs.

In a memorandum submitted to the President, the party chief said that the behavior of TDP and its leaders is one of utter disrespect for democratic norms and they are working with a clear design to physically eliminate the opposition in the state in the fond of perpetuating their power in the state. 

He requested the President to intervene in the matter and advice the Union Home Ministry to send a suitable advisory to the Andhra government that they should stop intimidating the opposition immediately.

Stating that Chandrababu's stoic silence on the illegalities perpetrated by his party men confirmed that he was aware of it, YS Jagan alleged that people are living in the grip of fear following the TDP’s illegalities in the local body chairperson elections. Chandrababu is openly encouraging TDP workers to attack YSRCP cadres, he added.

YS Jagan further said that ever since TDP came to power, 17 YSRCP activists were brutally done to death and 113 were critically maimed.
