Youths Sets Medico On Fire, Tries To Burn Self

In a shocking incident, a 20-year-old girl student was set fire even as her colleagues were watching in horror. The assailant, who doused her in fuel and set her on fire, too tried to set himself on fire.
The incident occurred in the SME College in Kerala's Kottayam. Both the assailant and the victim, and two students, who tried to save the girl, suffered burn injuries and were admitted to the hospital.
A youth in mid twenties, Adarsh, came to the classroom and poured petrol on her. The girl ran out in fear but Adarsh chased and caught hold of her before setting fire to her and himself.
The School of Medical Education is a part of Kottayam's Mahatma Gandhi University.
