Youth Posts Intimate Pictures With Girlfriend On Social Media

Mancherial: A 23-year-old youth was arrested on Wednesday for sexually assaulting a girl in Wankidi.

According to police, the victim M. Prathima, a native of Erraguntapalli village was in a relationship with the accused G. Ashok for four years. The accused entered into a physical relation with the girl two years ago in the pretext of love and he captured some pictures while having sex. As the accused is preparing for the competitive exams he started ignoring girl. But as the girl insisted on marriage, he demanded Rs25 lakhs dowry. He also threatened her of uploading the intimate pictures on YouTube, if she will not leave him.

As the girl continued to force him for the marriage, Ashok uploaded the pictures on some social media sites. When her parents came to know about the issue, they reprimanded her. Prathima took the issue seriously and left the home on June 17. The victim's parents' lodged a complaint with the police on June 20. While the case was in the Investigation the girl returned home on June 25. When police inquired about her missing, she narrated the story and lodged a complaint against Ashok.

Police took the accused into custody and booked him under Nirbhaya Act.
