Youth, Married Woman Tortured By Villagers For Having Illicit Affair 

A man and a married woman were tied to a pole and tortured by a mob for allegedly having an illicit affair in Odisha's Malkangiri village on Thursday. The duo was caught red-handed in a compromising position on the village outskirts. They would general meet at the woman's house in the village as the man visits her frequently from a neighboring village, from which the woman originally hails. She got married to a man of the village two years back but her paramour kept visiting her frequently.

After a few youths found them in compromising position on the outskirts, they called others and brought the couple to the middle of the village after tying their hands with a rope. Then the mob tied the man and the woman to a pole and beat them up. The also imposed a fine of Rs5,000 on the youth. After someone alerted the police about the incident, police rushed to the spot and rescued the duo.
