Youth held for raping six-year-old girl in Rajahmundry

Rajahmundry, A youth was arrested for allegedly raping a six-year-old girl in her house here, police said on. The incident occurred on December 31 night when the accused, identified only as Valli, was returning home after partying with his friends, they said.

On his way home he saw three children including the victim girl sleeping alone inside their house. Valli then went inside and allegedly raped the girl, said DSP (Urban) Srinivas Rao.

The officer said the girl's parents were away at temple on the night of the incident. The girl confided in her mother who lodged an FIR with police yesterday.

Valli was apprehended on the description given by the girl last evening, he said. A case under Nirbhaya Act and other relevant sections of IPC was registered against him, Rao added.
