Youth Held For Posing As Army Man With Fake Identity Card

Army rally was organized for the selection of candidates by 125 Battalion near Tirumalgiri
Regimental Bazaar (Secunderabad): A 22-year-old youth was held for impersonating as a soldier by carrying a fake identity card. The accused Lakhan Suresh Nape hails from Maharashtra who aims to get enrolled into Army.
He came to the city on September 30 to take part in the Army rally organized for the selection of candidates by 125 Battalion near Tirumalgiri. He carried a xerox copy of identity card of his cousin brother who works in Army.
Suresh was arrested by GRP officials at Secunderabad station and was later handed over to Army. He has been remanded in custody
However, he was not selected by the officials and was at Secunderabad station to return to his hometown with his friends on October 2. As the train was jam packed Suresh got into a bogie meant for Defence personnel.
On inquiring by the group of soldiers, Suresh claimed that he too is an Army man and showed his identity card. However, the fake identify card spilled beans and was caught by the soldiers.
Suresh was arrested by GRP officials at Secunderabad station and was later handed over to Army. He has been remanded in custody.
