Woman Killed As Bike Skids While Avoiding Monkey

In a freak accident, a lady teacher died when the two-wheeler she was pillion riding with her husband skidded off the road while trying to avoid hitting a monkey. The incident occurred near Velpujarla village in Arvapalli mandal of Suryapet district.

According to the police, Sankaramma is a teacher in the Mamidala government primary school and her husband Ramesh, also a teacher in Chirriguduru village primary school, were going on a bike to their schools. As they reached Velpucharla, a monkey suddenly came before the two-wheeler. To save the monkey, Ramesh made a sudden swerve, lost balance and fell down. While Sankaramma died on the spot, Ramesh suffered grievous injuries. He was rushed to the nearest Government hospital.

The police shifted Sankaramma's body for post-mortem.
