Woman Jumps Offs Building; Son-In-Law Arrested

Hyderabad: A 54-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the fourth floor of the building at Medipally on Monday.

Padma was living with her husband K. Pradeep at Prashanth Nagar in Medipally. She had a daughter Swetha who was married to Ch. Hari and the couple had two kids. As Hari was unemployed, the couple would quarrel quite often. Due to continuous fights, Swetha returned to her parents' house and has been staying with her kids.

Enraged over Swetha staying with her parents, Hari started harassing her mentally. He would call her frequently and abuse her over phone. He also abused his mother-in-law Padma for not sending his wife. On Monday, Hari called Padma and abused her. He further threatened her with dire consequences if they did not send Swetha back to him.

Depressed over her daughter's life and Hari's torture, she jumped from the fourth floor of the building. Padma's husband Pradeep lodged a complaint with the police against Hari for the harassment. The police registered a case and took Hari into custody.
