Taking serious view of the Lake police station Circle Inspector Sri Devi for staging protesting at Dharna Chowk on Monday, the Telangana police department issued orders attaching Sri Devi to police control room. They staged a counter protest to TJAC by displaying placards along with some TRS corporators at the venue before the protest turned violent. After noticing the media persons clicking pictures, CI Sri Devi escaped from the scene and re-appeared in police uniform in the afternoon to discharge her duties at the Dharna Chowk.
Meanwhile, Central Zone Deputy Commissioner of Police Joel Davis ordered an inquiry into the incident. The DCP also said that an internal inquiry has been instituted to determine if a lady police official from the Lake Police station who was seen in plain clothes holding a placard, was part of the protest group. Images and videos of the woman cop at the site of protest had gone viral on print and online media.
