Will replicate same results in assembly elections too: Ponnala

Reacting to favourable electoral results in the local body polls, Telangana PCC chief Ponnala Lakshmaiah expressed the confidence that the assembly elections too would throw up similar results.

He said the election results reflected the sentiments of the Telangana people.

“The Congress will surely come to power in Telangana, said an exultant Ponnala. "The results show that the people of Telangana trust only Congress and we can form government on our own," he added. He said the TRS which boasted of winning the civic polls, stood a poor third in the results declared today.

Celebrations reached a crescendo at the Gandhi Bhavan as soon as the results began to trickle in. Ponnala also took part in the celebrations.
