Will definitely give issue-based support to Modi ji: YS Jagan
YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy arrived in New Delhi on Monday to meet India's prime minister designate, Narendra Modi, to discuss issues and concerns related to the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.
YS Jagan is expected to meet Modi along with YSRCP MPs. Speaking to reporters at Delhi airport, he said "We are here for our state. Hope Modi ji takes a sympathetic view of our situation."
Recalling the way the state was bifurcated, YS Jagan said that the outgoing Prime Minister had read out a letter in the House and the contents of the same were not included in the Telangana bill. "They have taken Hyderabad away from us and did not name where the new capital will be and how much funds they would give," he said.
"The Centre has said it will give special status to Seemandhra but did not specify the benefits it will get and how long the status will continue. Before Narendra Modi ji introduces the budget, we wanted to request him and submit representation," YS Jagan added.
The party MPs said that they will also request the help of union government for the pending projects in the state.
When asked if YSRCP will be supporting NDA, YS Jagan said, "He doesn't need anybody's support. He already has 283. We were never averse to Narendra Modi ji even in the past. We will, however, give issue-based support."
YS Jagan along with nine YSRCP MPs will meet Modi in the evening.
