Who Killed Beautician Sirisha And Sub-Inspector Prabhakar Reddy?
By Srinivas G. Roopi
Hyderabad: An expert flirt, Rajiv, the proprietor of RJ Photography at a secluded SSKC's Rockside Apartment in Jubilee Hills area, wanted to get rid of Sirisha after four years of relationship, especially after he developed friendship with Tejaswini, who hails from Vijayawada and was working as an HR executive in a company in Hyderabad.
Tejaswini believed that Rajiv would marry her, as he promised. However, she was insecure with the presence of Sirisha at the studio and her intimacy with Rajiv. She had frequent tiffs with Sirisha and the rivalry went up to Tejaswini lodging a complaint against Sirisha at Banjara Hills police station on some concocted charges.
Already married and a mother of a 12-year-old daughter, Sirisha did not want to get out of their way for her own reasons. Rajiv sought his friend Sravan's help in resolving the matter, who had in turn approached his friend SI P. Prabhakar Reddy to help them out.
Prabhakar Reddy had tried his level best to get the case against Sirisha trashed. To thank the SI and also to resolve some more unresolved issues, Rajiv, Sravan and Sirisha went to Prabhakar Reddy's police quarters at Kukunoorpally in Siddipet district on Monday night.
Sirisha, who liked a lavish lifestyle which is obvious from his photo albums, had consumed hukka before leaving for Kukunoorpally. After reaching the SI's place, Reddy, Sravan and Sirisha again had drinks. Taking drunk Sirisha for granted, the SI tried to molest her. But she resisted. The party took an ugly turn and the three of them left for Hyderabad. Enraged by Sirisha's refusal to 'cooperate' with the SI, Rajiv assaulted her causing bruises on face and neck.
As she realized the gravity of the situation, Sirisha shared her location with her husband Satish who was at home. He immediately tried to call her back, but it was not picked by her. She was in the captivity of Rajiv at the time. The Ford Endeavor car they traveled was being driven by Sravan and Rajiv and Sirisha were sitting in the back seat. The brawl continued throughout their journey from Kukunoorpally to Jubilee Hills.
They reached the studio at around 3.30am. As per her original plan, she was supposed to go home after coming back to city. She messaged her husband at around 8.40pm that she will be coming late. But due to the situation they were caught in at the time, she came to the studio along with both the men. In a huff, she went upstairs and into the studio in flat number 202 and made a video call to Rajiv who was still downstairs. He did not pick her call and allowed the things to happen.
Given the situation, Rajiv knew very well that she might take some extreme step. He wanted that to happen. Then he leisurely went upstairs and broke open the door only to find what he expected. She was hanging from a ceiling fan in the middle of the studio.
Shocked and confused, Rajiv cut the chunni with which she hanged herself and removed the noose and called the police sometime later.
Rajiv informed her husband in the morning. The police took Rajiv and Sravan into custody for interrogation as the Satish expressed doubts over the suicide.
The news spread like wildfire and SI Prabhakar Reddy at Kukunoorpally became jittery on watching it on TV.
Already disturbed by his job related problems, Reddy slipped into a distressful depression with the woman's suicide. He feared that his name would come up. His wife had a baby just three months back and was away at her parents' place. After finishing his duty at the PS, he came back to his quarter, which happened to be the one in which SI Ramakrishna Reddy of the same place shot himself to death alleging pressure from higher officials a few months back, and shot himself in the head with his service revolver. He died instantaneously.
Who should be held responsible for the death of Sirisha and SI Prabhakar Reddy?
Hyderabad City Police Commissioner P. Mahender Reddy, giving a detailed narration of the entire incident from Monday night to Wednesday afternoon till Prabhakar Reddy shot himself to death, confirmed that both were suicides.
“There was no rape as the accused Rajiv and Sravan testified,” the CP said.
However, Rajiv’s friend Sravan who is made A-1 in the Sirisha’s suicide case, had criminal intentions. He was involved in several debauchery cases before, Commissioner said.
As Tejaswini was in no way involved directly in the incident, there is no case against her, Mahender Reddy said.
