CMs - both sitting and former - seem to be having tough time convincing the voters.
The sole exception appears to be Mahbuba Mufti of the PDP, who is coasting comfortably. Here is the latest on the men who helmed the states that went for polls, but are now facing troubled times steering themselves to victory.
* Swashbuckling Omar Abullah, who lorded over Jammu and Kashmir till now, is trailing in Sonawar and is leading in Beerwah. Even in Beerwah, his margin is slender. * Madhu Koda, former CM of Jharkhand, is trailing, so is BJP renegade Babulal Marandi. * Jharkhand Chief Minister and JMM candidate Hemant Soren, who also has run from two constituencies, is leading in Barhait constituency but is trailing in Dumka. Soren is leading by 2735 votes from Barhait. However, he is trailing by 3433 votesfrom Dumka. * Jammu Kashmir deputy Chief Minister and Congress candidate from Chhamb Tara Chand is trailing Krishan Lal of BJP by a margin of 4,797 votes.
