Warangal jail inmate dies after releasing on bail

An inmate of Warangal Central Jail died under suspicious circumstances soon after reaching home on bail. Suspecting foul play, the relatives of the prisoner launched protest in front of the jail on Thursday.

According to reports, Somani, a bootlegger of Singaram village in Hanmakonda mandal was lodged in the Central Jail. The court granted him bail along with 16 others on Wednesday in connection with illegal transportation of gudumba. The jail authorities released all the 17 persons, who were granted bail. Somani died within hours after reaching home. Angry relatives blamed the jail authorities and staged dharna demanding action against the jail officials. The jail authorities, however, denied the allegation and said illness may be caused for Somani’s death.
