Vox Populi Vox Dei: Polavaram Tribals Demand Better Deal

Polavaram oustees and the tribals who have lost their lands but got a raw deal in return have poured out their woes before YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, when he visited the Agency area of Rampachodavaram. Here is what the tribals and the project oustees have said:

K Satyanarayana of Devipatnam: Because of Polavaram project we have lost everything. We have been given very little in terms of compensation. They are terrorising us and are forcing us to accept meagre ex-gratia.Though we have pleaded with them repeatedly, nothing has been done.

Chellanna Dora, Nagallapalli: We were assured of all facilities by YSR. But, after Chandrababu came to power, nothing has been done. No facilities are being given.

Srinivasa Rao, Polavaram: Government should provide jobs to all the project oustees who are above the age of 18 years. They should be given the R and R package fully. Tribals are te biggest losers in Polavaram project.

Sekhar, Polavaram oustee: During YSR regime, we were given pattas. Chandrababu rule has not done anything for us. We have been living here for generations and are ignored by the Government. We want a better deal at least now.
