Vizag Land Scam : Complaints Continue To Pour In

Visakhapatnam: The Special Investigation Team (SIT), probing into the sensational land scam that came to light recently, received a large number of complaints. More than 800 complaints about illegal encroachment of lands have been lodged before the investigating team.

It may be mentioned that the land scam created ripples in the TDP government as the names of ministers and ruling party MLAs cropped up in the multi-crore scam.

Vizag Police Commissioner Yoganand said 374 complaints were received over the land disputes between two parties, 349 complaints about the negligence of officials in matters pertaining to land grab and 199 cases involving private persons in the land scam.

The total number of complaints received about the tampering of records is 164. Half of the complaints were lodged before the SIT in connection with the land encroachment in Visakhapatnam (Rural) , Gajuwaka and Bhimili mandals alone.
