YSRCP MLA Ready To Pay Rs 10 Crore As Initial Payment For Sadavarthi Lands

Hyderabad: YSRCP MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy told the High Court here on Tuesday, that he is ready to pay the first installment of Rs 10 crore for the Sadavarthi Satram lands in Chennai.

It may be recalled that the High Court had directed Ramakrishna Reddy to pay Rs 10 crore and the remaining Rs 17 crore at a later date to claim the Sadavarthi lands that were earlier auctioned by the Andhra Pradesh government.

Following the statement given by the MLA on Tuesday, the Court directed him to pay the amount in the name of Endowments Commissioner and posted further hearing to July 17. Later, speaking to the media outside the Court complex, Ramakrishna Reddy stated that the amount will be deposited before the current weekend as per instructions.

The Sadavarthi Land Case So Far:

The Andhra Pradesh government had auctioned the 83.11 acres of Sadavarthi Satram lands for a paltry sum of Rs 22 crore. Questioning the auction by AP government, MLA Alla Ramakrishna petitioned the High Court. The Court in its judgement stated that the lands will be handed over to the MLA if he is willing to pay an additional Rs 5 crore. That brought the total amount to Rs 27.44 crore. It is in this regard that the MLA on Tuesday gave an undertaking that he is willing to pay the first installment of Rs 10 crore.
