Vijayamma fasting on behalf of Jagan

YSR Congress Party honorary president YS Vijayamma made it clear that she's fasting with the objective: "If you cannot do justice to both the regions, maintain status quo."

The way in which the Congress wants to divide the state appears as if people should leave home with their bag and baggage. For the sake of votes and seats, they are dividing the state, she said. Vijayamma warned that YSRCP would not stay calm if AP is mindlessly divided.

Expressing concern over the fate of Andhra Pradesh, she said: "I am saddened by the turn of events in AP."  She demanded to know how can the state be divided without doing justice to all the regions.

Vijayamma observed two-minutes silence to pay condolence to those who died for Samaikyandhra.

Recalling YSR, Vijayamma said that he treated all the regions equally and wanted to see the three regions develop. He implemented many welfare schemes in the backward areas of Kadapa, Chittoor, Ananthapur, Nalgonda and Mahbubnagar. "YSR had said the division is acceptable only when a correct way is shown for water, funds and employment."

We have always stuck to our promises as mentioned in the plenary, Vijayamma said pointing out that Congress party is bifurcating AP for the sake of 15 MP seats in the Telangana region. "This is a sensitive issue and should be handled like a father, who would handle a family matter to do justice among the children and also ensuring that there would no complications in the days to come.  If you cannot do ‘justice’, then you have no power to split the state," Vijayamma asserted.

"Jagan told me 'They are dividing the state for political benefits. We have to teach them a lesson'. He also wanted to go on a hunger strike in jail itself. But I talked him out of it. I told him 'we get to meet you only twice  a month. Presently, six people are allowed to meet you. If you go on hunger strike, they will stop mulakaths citing law and order problem. They may even shift you to other states'. So, I told him that I will go on hunger strike on his behalf," said YS Vijayamma.

She said YSR is proudly watching Jagan's love and affection towards people, she said.
