VH slams Centre on Governor's powers

Senior Congress leader and MP V.Hanumatha Rao lambasted the clarification issued by the Central Government on providing special powers to governor in Greater Hyderabad limits.

Speaking to reporters in Hyderabad on Saturday, he said: “If such powers are given to the governor, then where is the need for the chief minister and the home minister? "However, he commented that governor has to intervene when the settlers in Hyderabad face any problem.

“If governor intervenes in each and every issue, there would be mayhem and confusion,” said Hanumantha Rao.
