Two more districts added, Telangana renamed Rayala Telangana

In the latest twist in the Telangana saga, the centre has decided to change the proposed structure of the Telangana state and add two more districts to the existing 10 districts. The move has been approved by both Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress Chief Sonia Gandhi.

According to reports, the newly proposed area will be called ''Rayala-Telangana' and will include Rayalaseema districts of Anantapur and Kurnool, besides the existing 10 Telangana districts. The two states carved out of Andhra Pradesh will then each have 21 Lok Sabha and 147 assembly constituencies.
The cabinet is likely to give its approval on Wednesday before sending it to the President. Reports state that the GoM, consisted to look into the issue of bifurcation, have recommended the proposed plan after taking the consent of village councils and elected representatives of both districts.
