Telangana strategy session next month likely
TRS is likely to hold a meeting in the second week of September to finalise its strategy to step up the Telangana statehood agitation. The sub-regional party planned to organise the meeting for three days from today but deferred the move to a later date. TRS Politbureau members, MLAs and presidents of district units were to take part in the session.
There is no specific reason for postponing the meeting, but it was done keeping in view the prevailing political situation, TRS sources said. The strategy session is now likely to take place in the second week of September, they said.
TRS President K Chandrasekhar Rao had earlier claimed he got an assurance from the Central leaders in Delhi about formation of separate Telangana and that they would take a decision on the issue after the August 7 election of Vice- President.
Meanwhile, TRS floor leader E Rajender and party MLA K T Rama Rao criticised the state police officers' association for its reported comments against TRS MLAs over their protest at the office of power utilities earlier this week over electricity shortage in Andhra Pradesh. The association had condemned certain comments made by the TRS MLAs about some police officers on duty.
