TRS, Congress indulge in war of promises

TRS, Congress indulge in war of promises - Sakshi Post

After failing to get TRS to merge with Congress party, both the parties are now indulging in a war of of promises . If TRS makes a new promise to the public during campaigning, Congress, refusing to be left behind would immediately double the promise in their election speeches.

When visiting a new place during campaigning KCR would end up making new promises. He announced that loans of farmers to the tune of Rs 1 lakh would be waived, if TRS was voted to power.

To counter this, and to improve its popularity among public, Rahul Gandhi, during his recent visit to Telangana, said that Congress will waive farmers’ loans up to Rs. 2 lakh as against Rs. 1 lakh being promised by the TRS.

TRS had promised to change the fortunes of Warangal, if it was voted to power. While, Rahul had said that Congress will not only convert Warangal into Telanagna's second IT hub after Hyderabad but also make it the state's manufacturing hub.

Interestingly, both these promises were not in their manifestos.

On the other hand, in his recent visits to Telangana, Jairam Ramesh too made promises to counter TRS.
