Treasure Hunters Vandalize Temple in Anantapur 

Anantapur: In a hunt for treasure trove believed to be buried under the temple, some unidentified persons have dug up Sri Malleswara Swamy temple and have vandalized the famous Shiva Lingam.

The incident happened on Tuesday night at Kambadur village in the district. The miscreants also attacked the watchman who resisted their attempts.

The miscreants threatened the watchman with knife and escaped from the place. Police have registered a case and are investigating into the incident.

The temple is known for its stone-carved lotus and incidentally the village has derived name after huge stone-cut lotus.
