Tragedy strikes: Four babies die at Ruya hospital - Sakshi Post

Parents of the newborn allege that the short supply of oxygen cylinders and the negligence of the hospital staff are the reason for the deaths.

Parents and relatives of the children staged a dharna in front of the hospital shouting slogans against doctors and the hospital.

Deaths of children in Tirupati hospitals is not uncommon.

There have been several cases, especially those in the government hospitals. The government in the past had said that it would investigate the causes for such deaths and also assured that such incidents would not repeat in the future.

However, same tragedy struck this time too! The kids who died hail from Mangal and Puttur regions that are on the outskirts of the temple town.

Reacting to the tragedy, Veeraswami, the superintendent of the hospital said that there is sufficient supply of oxygen cylinders in the hospital. But he agreed that there indeed was staff crunch!

Much to everybody's disgust, he added that the deaths were due to the negligence of parents and the hospital was in no way responsible for the tragedy.
