Traffic Diversions On New Year Eve In Hyderabad City

To rein in the unruly New Year revelers, the police of Hyderabad, Rachakonda and Cyberabad commissionerates have diverted the traffic in several areas from 10 PM till 2 AM on Sunday.

The diversions are:

* Traffic on the Necklace Road, Upper Tankbund Road and NTR Marg will be completely stopped. The road between Mint Compound and Secretariat would be blocked.

* The traffic on NTR Marg and Necklace Road would be diverted via Khairatabad and Raj Bhavan Road.

* The traffic between BRK Bhavan and NTR Marg would be diverted via Lakdikapul and Ayodhya Centre.

* Traffic via Khairatabad Market to Necklace Rotary would be diverted via Meena Talkies.

* Private buses, lorries and heavy vehicles would be allowed into the city only after 2 AM.

* The vehicles from Secunderabad to Sailing Club would be diverted via Kavadiguda Cross road, Lower Tankbund, Katta Maisamma temple, Ashoknagar and RTC Crossroads.

In addition, all the flyovers and the Outer Ring Road would remain closed during the same time. The police said the New Year celebrations will be permitted only till 1 AM and the police would deal with eve-teasers and drunk drivers very sternly. As many as 120 breathe analyser teams have been deployed to curb drunk-n-drive cases.
