Tough time for TDP ministers in Capital Area
The Jana Chaitanya Yatra is proving to be a big headache to the TDP leaders and ministers. They are being taken to task by the people over non-fulfilment of promises.
Ministers like Ravela Kishore Babu, Prattipati Pulla Rao and Narayana are facing public ire. The anger is more pronounced in the capital area, where those who opted for land-pooling believing in the TDP leaders, are raining questions on the ministers.
In many places, the local party workers themselves are speaking against the yatras and are daring the TDP ministers to visit their areas.
Recently, when Minister Pulla Rao went to Tullur, he was asked by those who gave their lands under land pooling as to where they would be given alternative lands. "Your promised us jobs and livelihood. Where are the promised jobs?,"asked one farmer. Another farmer said: "We are not getting a small e-seva centre allocated to my son. If this is the state of affairs, where is the guarantee that would be getting plots in lieu of the lands we parted with?"
As for social welfare minister Ravela Kishore Babu, he is facing serious dissent from his own party people. Guntur rural mandal MPP Lakshmi Kumari is at logger heads with the minister and is on an indefinite fast since November 24.
Minister Narayana is the worst hit. He is not to be seen in action in the capital area. He played a key role in influencing people to part with their lands. But, now he is playing truant and the people are extremely angry with him. Another prominent minister Devineni Uma too is facing opposition during the Jana Chaitanya Yatras.
