Top Maoist RK is Safe, Claims Varavara
Top Maoist leader RK alias Akkiraju Haragopal alias Ramakrishna is safe. This was confirmed by Virasam leader P Varavara Rao, who was Maoists' interlocuter during the famous parleys during the YSR regime.
Varavara Rao, who has for the past few days, been expressing doubts about the whereabouts of RK and has even accused the police of confining him illegally, has said on Thursday evening that he had received the information that RK is safe.
RK was the target of the massive encounter planned in the Jantri forest area on the Andhra Odisha Border recently. Naxals suffered huge losses as over 31 cadres were killed in an encounter with elite anti-Naxal force, the Greyhounds. RK's son Prithvi alias Munna was also among those killed.
Fearing that the cops could eliminate RK, his wife Sirisha has also filed a habeas carpus petition in the AP High Court.
