Thunder showers dip temperatures in Hyd - Sakshi Post

Scattered rains accompanied by strong gales lashed Hyderabad and Secunderabad on Tuesday dipping the temperatures drastically.

Charminar, Chandrayanagutta, Dilshuknagar, Kothapet and other areas witnessed heavy rains in the afternoon. Thunder showers occurred at Secunderabad, Basheerbagh, Himayatnagar, Lakidi-ka-pool, Abids and Koti areas. As a result, vehicular traffic was badly disrupted. Power shutdown has been reported at Qutubullapur with heavy rain combined with strong gales.
Meanwhile, hail storm devastated in Medak in the afternoon. Electric poles collapsed in many areas and trees fell down damaging the cars at several places. Power supply disrupted in many part of the district as a result of heavy rain with strong winds.
The Visakha meteorology department announced that scattered rains may occur with strong gales in Telangana and Rayalaseema regions in the next 24 hours under the influence of depression from Rajasthan to Tamil Nadu via Karnataka. Thunder showers are likely to occur at several places in the two regions. Rudruru and Metpalli recorded 4 cm of rain, Adilabad, Mudhole, Sirisilla and Dubbaka recorded 3 cms and Madhira, Madakasira, Bodhan and Banswada received 2 cm of rain in the past 24 hours, the Vizag meteorology officials said.

Highest temperature in Anantapur

Meanwhile, Anantapur recorded highest temperature of 42 degrees Celsius on Tuesday. Nizambad, Rentachintala and Kadapa recorded 41 degrees, Kurnool, Nandyala, Mahaboobnagar, Medak and Hanmakonda recorded 40 degrees and Tirupati, Adilabad, Nalgonda, Ramagundam 39 degrees each.
