Three heroines to campaign for Ponnala

Though he is PCC chief for the fledgling Telangana state, Ponnala Laxmaiah has been forced to stay put in Jangaon, from where he is fighting elections.

Ponnala, who won by a whisker last time, wants to ensure that he manages to post a decent win this time around.

To woo voters, Ponnala has roped in three film heroines to campaign for him. MP Vijayasanthi, Jayasudha, MLA from Secunderabad and RLD MP Jayaprada would campaign for Ponnala. Interestingly, both Jayasudha and Jayaprada have never campaigned in these parts of the state.

Ponnala's move has drawn criticism from the Congress quarters. "He is the PCC chief and should focus on the whole state. But, here he is focusing on his own constituency," said a Congress leader.
