The Real Story Behind Chandrababu's Doctorate

Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has been awarded doctorate by a university in Chicago recently. Though the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is trumpeting it as doctorate from a prestigious university, a look at the fine print indicates that the said university is not one of the top ten universities in North America.

The university in the top ten list is University of Chicago, while the university that awarded the doctorate is Chicago State University - a 'small time' university. What makes the award even more dubious is that a Telugu native Devisri V Putluri is in a key position on the university board. Also, Andhra Pradesh minister for endowments Paidikondala Manikyala Rao visited the university a few months ago. He held discussions with the university professor Ravi Achanta during the visit.
