School Students Invent Device to Save Infants from Borewell
The class 10 students, Hema Pravin and Pravin, displayed their creation at the district-level science exhibition in the city on Thursday and won top honours. The device is a narrow cylindrical structure that can be easily lowered into a borewell. It consists of a miniature camera, mike, speakers and oxygen pipe.
Explaining about the device they said the device can be lowered into a borewell and live visuals about the position of the victim can be known. Simultaneously, the rescuers can talk to the victim and also hear what they are saying through the miniature mike and speakers, they said. Based on the situation, required amounts of oxygen can be pumped through the tubes arranged to the devices, the duo said.
