Hyderabad: Excise department on Saturday decided to cancel the license of TGI Friday Bar, following reports that the Bar served alcohol to underaged college student Shraveel, the prime accused in the drunken-driving incident which killed school student Ramya.

It may be recalled that fourth-grader Ramya died following a ghastly road accident at Punjagutta on July 1, when a car driven by Shraveel hit a road-divider and fell on the car driven by Ramya’s uncle. Besides Ramya, the accident claimed the life of her uncle and left her mother, grandfather and another uncle critically injured.

Following an investigation by the Banjara Hills police and subsequent recommendation to the Excise department, Excise commissioner Chandravadan issued a show cause notice to the Bar. The management of TGI Bar met the commissioner on Saturday and sought to reply to the notice. As their explanation was found to be unsatisfactory directions were issued to cancel the Bar’s license.
