Minister Srinivas Yadav offers prayers at Ujjaini Mahankali Temple

Hyderabad: As part of the ongoing Telangana state festival – Bonalu - celebrations, minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav on Sunday morning performed special pujas at the famous Ujjaini Mahankali temple in Secunderabad.

Attired in her best, Jogini Shyamala offered the first Bonam, which consists of cooked rice, jaggery, curd and turmeric water, carried in steel and clay pots on her head to the presiding deity Mahankali. The minister was accompanied by Ramgopalpet corporator Athelli Aruna and the temple’s EO Annapurna.

Speaking on the occasion, the minister said Bonalu festival, this year, are being celebrated on a larger scale compared to last year.

He said various government departments are coordinating their activities to make all the necessary arrangements like drinking water, sanitation, roads and uninterrupted power supply for the benefit of the devotees visiting the various temples.
