Telangana EAMCET, ECET 2020 To Be Held In June

HYDERABAD: Amid rising COVID-19 cases in the state and lockdown, most of the entrance examinations in Telangana have already been postponed. Now, Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) Chairman T Papi Reddy has said that the Telangana common entrance examinations, EAMCET and ECET 2020, will be held in June, either in the third week or fourth week, in view of the ongoing COVID-19 lockdown in the state.

Speaking to the media on Thursday, Papi reddy has said that the state Council of Higher Education has already issued directions to all the universities across the state, asking them not to detain any of the students for the current academic year. He added that the state government is planning to provide online coaching to students. Global software giant Microsoft has come forward to provide online classes to all the students pursuing their studies in degree and post-graduation, he said.

Papi Reddy further said that the first priority of the TSCHE is to conduct examinations for the final-year students across the state, as most of them will be preparing for national-level entrance tests.

The application forms for the TS ECET 2020 were issued from February 24, 2020. The state government has already extended the last date for application for both TS ECET and EAMCET 2020 till April 20, 2020 considering the prolonged COVID-19 lockdown. Papi Reddy said that the State Council of Higher Education will announce all the details like new schedule for online registrations with late fees after April 15, 2020.
