No One On Roads From 7pm to 6am: DGP Mahender Reddy

HYDERABAD: Criminal cases will be filed against one who violates the lockdown rules, said Telangana DGP Mahender Reddy in a press meet held on Monday. Speaking to presspersons Mahender Reddy said that Checkposts will be set up to monitor whether the people are following the lockdown. Vehicles will be seized if people travel in their vehicles. He said that people cannot travel in their vehicles beyond 1 km of radius from their vicinity.

Seized vehicles will be released after the lockdown, he added.

At the high-level meeting, Telangana Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar said that stringent action will be taken under the Epidemic Diseases Act of 1897 and the Disaster Management Act 2005 if people violate the lockdown.

People are strictly not allowed on to the roads from 7 PM to 6 AM, He said. He also added that state borders were closed in the view of lockdown in the state.

He also clarified that only Emergency services will be permitted.

He appealed the people of the state to cooperate during a lockdown.

It is already known that the state government has already announced a lockdown in the state until March 31.
