Hyderabad: Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) working president and Minister for IT and Municpal Administration KT Rama Rao inaugurated the much-needed Biodiversity junction flyover for the citizens on Monday.Present at the inauguration were Minister for Education P Sabitha Indra Reddy, Hyderabad Mayor Bonthu Rammohan, Chevella MP G Ranjith Reddy, Serlingampally MLA A Gandhi along with the SRDP officials.

Taking to Twitter, KTR on Sunday posted pictures of the flyover and wrote that he will also lay the foundation for another flyover.

"Will be opening the Biodiversity junction flyover tomorrow to citizens of Hyderabad. Also laying foundation for another important flyover from Silpa Layout (lane next to IKEA) going all the way to ORR expressway. Many junction improvements have been taken up in Strategic Road Development Program (SRDP)," KTR tweeted.

KTR in another tweet wrote: "SRDP is an ongoing effort to improve the infrastructure in Hyderabad. Some projects have been completed and many more underway.

Second Level Flyover At Biodiversity Junction

Work on the flyover which cost `69.47 crore was completed on November 1.

The 990-metre-long flyover will commence from Raidurg Police Station on the Mehdipatnam end and drop near IKEA showroom towards Kukatpally end.

The second-level flyover at the Biodiversity junction would ease traffic congestion by providing conflict-free movement at the junction. It will also provide relief to traffic on the Old Mumbai Highway from Mehdipatnam to Mindspace (Hitec City).

The completion of this flyover along with the other components of the Strategic Road Development Plan (SRDP) package-IV at Mindspace junction, Ayyappa Society junction and Rajiv Gandhi junction has created a conflict-free traffic flow channel from from Biodiversity junction on the Old Mumbai Highway to JNTU on National Highway 65 as stated in a press release by the SRDP.
