Ukranian Passenger Suffers Cardiac Arrest, Flight Diverted To RGIA

Hyderabad: A Ukranian passenger on board a Doha-Bangkok flight died after suffering from a cardiac arrest, prompting the flight to be diverted at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad. Doctors had declared her brought dead.

Galyna Konkina, 69, has a history of heart ailment and undergone a bypass surgery 20 years ago. After she was found 'unresponsive and unconscious' in the flight at 1.30 AM, the Qatar Airways flight landed at RGIA two hours later.

Authorities at the airport told a news agency that the crew tried pulmonary resuscitation, but it did not help. When the flight landed at Hyderabad airport at 3.25 am, doctors attended and she was declared brought dead due to cardiac arrest.

Qatar Airways in a statement confirmed "with deep regret," the death of the passenger on board the flight and offered their condolences.
