Hyderabad: TSRTC will not be merged with the government and TRS will not call the workers for talks, Telangana transport minister P Ajay Kumar said.

Addressing media persons on Saturday, Kumar added that Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) will only consider those employees who reported back to work by 6 pm on October 5, which is the deadline given by the Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and the remaining employees will be treated as absconding.

The transport minister said that the government has made all alternative arrangements to avoid any inconvenience to the passengers. During this period of RTC strike, the government is running 7,358 vehicles. He even said that CM will soon take a decision on the salaries of the TSRTC employees for the month of September.

Kumar said KCR had never promised to merge TSRTC with government, and the state cabinet will soon take a decision over the employees who are not attending to their duties.

He also struck down the rumours that RTC has assets worth Rs 1 lakh crore and said that there are only Rs 4,416 crore assets with the transport corporation. He announced that the Telangana government will hire more employees and increase bus services.
