Hyderabad Emigrant Goes Missing in Dubai, Brother Seeks MEA Help
Hyderabad: A Hyderabad man's brother has gone missing in Dubai and he has sought the help of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) to trace his brother.
Mohammad Abdul Wahab went to Dubai in December last year to seek a job. One day after he went for food and did not return, Wahab's brother Mohammed Abdul Rouf said.
"One day, Wahab went out from his home in Dubai to have some food. He never came back. I contacted my cousin brother who works with Wahab in Dubai but he told me that he did not know about Wahab's whereabouts," Rouf was quoted saying by a leading daily.
His cousin approached Dubai police, but there has not been any satisfactory response.
"The company in which Wahab was employed in called us and informed us about him being an absconder. Recently, my brother Faizan went to the police station in Dubai to know the status of the registered complaint. We were told that Wahab is missing and they will notify us whenever they find him," Rouf said.
"I request the Indian Embassy in Dubai to find my brother. We are concerned about Wahab here," he urged to the MEA.
In another incident, union external affairs minister S Jaishankar had tweeted in June that a Hyderabad man Mohammed Khader, 60, who went missing in Saudi Arabia was traced by the MEA.
Khader had gone to perform Umrah in Mecca and was reported missing from Masjid-al-Haram since May 25.
The Consulate General of India, Jeddah traced Mohammed Khader in a hospital in Mecca after a social worker Amjed Ullah Khan informed the consulate about the missing man. Replying to the request on June 8, the CGI assured of all possible help.
