The commuters struggled with the hours-long traffic congestions - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: Several places in the city witnessed heavy rainfall resulting in water-logging and traffic jams. The commuters struggled with the hours-long traffic congestions which is unusual on a Sunday.

Also, the water stagnation at Shilparamam affected the stretch from Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills to Hitech-City and Madhapur causing the traffic and GHMC personnel diverting the traffic at many places.

Along with the GHMC officials and engineers, the Cyberabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar personally reviewed the situation. 10 to 12 teams along with the disaster management personnel were deployed in each zone under the Cyberabad Commissionerate to clear the water logging points. JCBs and motor pumps were utilized to flush out the stagnated water from the water logging points.

While the Commissioner mentioned that the new water logging points are increasing the problem every year, they are consulting with the GHMC and JNTU experts to come up with a permanent solution for the free flow of traffic, particularly in the IT corridor.
