Telangana Cop’s Selfless Act Wins Hearts On Twitter
Hyderabad: A police official from Karimnagar district put his life at risk to save two labourers, who were stuck in a 60-foot deep well. The incident took place in Madipalli village in Karimnagar district, about 140 km from Hyderabad.
After receiving information regarding the labourers being stuck in a well, the police officer, Koripelly Sujan Reddy rushed to the spot from Jammikunta town. The two workers, Marepalli Ramu and Mallaiah, were digging the well but fell unconscious due to lack of oxygen. While several villagers gathered around to help by lowering ropes into the well. However, the attempts failed as the workers were not able to get a good grip. Following this, the police official descended into the well with a rope.
Sujan Reddy then helped them to grab the rope and climb up. In the meantime, the firefighting personnel also reached the spot and pushed a ladder into the well, thus assisting all the three in pulling out of the well. The workers, who were feeling disoriented were administered first-aid by local authorities and later were shifted to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
The video of the cop entering the well and extricating the workers has gone viral on social media with netizens praising him for his brave act.
