YS Jagan Means Business, Conducts Review Meeting To Implement Navaratnalu
Amaravati: Chief Minister-designate of Andhra Pradesh YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, who won the recent Assembly elections with a thumping majority, means serious business even before he assumes the mantle of chief ministership on May 30. As stated during his Padayatra and election campaign, his top priority would be the implementation of the ''Navaratnalu'' - nine welfare schemes, in the state after he assumed power.

As part of this YS Jagan conducted a high-level review meeting with the AP Chief Secretary (CS) LV Subramanyam, former CS Ajay Kallam, retired IAS officer M Samuel along with senior government officials on Tuesday.
During the course of the meeting, the welfare schemes were discussed in detail. Aspects such as the budgetary allocation needed for each scheme, under which department would the schemes fall under and be implemented were also discussed. Officials say that YS Jagan Mohan Reddy plans to form the Cabinet at the earliest to ensure the implementation of the welfare schemes and to fulfill his promise made to the people.

Higher officials say that YS Jagan plans to identify the beneficiaries and create suitable and effective administrative mechanisms in place, so that they would receive the benefits of the scheme on time.
Officials say that the new assembly should be convened by the 18th of July. The entire exercise of the election of the protem speaker and the swearing-in of the elected members of the assembly should be completed by this date, after which the Budget sessions would be convened.
YS Jagan is working with the officials on how best to manage the state finances without borrowing and further pushing the State into a debt-trap. YS Jagan has already made plea to the Centre to facilitate steady flow of funds when he met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi, after winning the elections.
