Hyderabad: The Opposition parties in Telangana have announced a protest rally on May 11 over the alleged discrepancies published in the Intermediate Examination results. They demanded the state government take strict action in the issue, terminate the Education Minister and compensate the families of the students' who committed suicide due to the results.

Urging the affected students and their parents to join their protest on May 11, the party leaders pointed out that 18 days have passed since the discrepancies in the results were disclosed but the government has not taken any adequate measures or provided assurance to the families of the students who ended their lives.

Opposition party leaders Chada Venkat Reddy (CPI), M Kodandaram (TJS), Rawala Chandrasekhar Reddy (TDP) and MRG Vinod Reddy (Congress) held a discussion over the Inter Results on Sunday at Makhdoom Bhavan.

Criticizing the government for their negligence, Telangana Janasamathi state president Kodandaram demanded that the TRS government fulfill the demands including re-evaluation of every answer sheet, action against the officials responsible for the discrepancies, suspension of Education Minister Jagadishwar Reddy, ex-gratia to families whose children committed suicide and an inquiry into the issue by a sitting judge.

He further said that they would hold the Deeksha for these major issues.

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) state main secretary MLG Vinod Reddy demanded an interrogation over Global Arena being granted a contract of Rs. 4.34 crores whereas the contract for conducting intermediate exams was given for only Rs. 74 lakhs last year.

Claiming that injustice has happened to the students, CPI State Secretary Chada Venkat Reddy said that the TRS government has not taken any action so far to arrest the guilty officers who are responsible for the goof-up. Hence, they are going to take up the protest against the state government, said Venkat Reddy, who further urged the affected students to participate in the movement.
